IKEA to cut back prices on products, food, delivery on 'ber' months

'Tis the season to be jolly! The world's longest Christmas celebration is getting a treat from the world's largest furniture retailer.

IKEA Philippines announced it would cut prices on 2,000 products, select food items, and delivery services in time for the so-called "ber" months, which are the unofficial start of the Christmas season for Filipinos.

"Starting 1 September, IKEA will be bringing down prices on the things that matter most for the many Filipinos. Exactly 2,000 of 9,753 products, 20% of the IKEA product range, will now be available at even lower prices," the Sweden-based furniture retailer said in a statement.

In addition, the company announced a significant reduction in the cost of truck delivery from the previous maximum of P1,990 to a fixed P600 nationwide.

"Additionally, Click & Collect services are now free of charge (previously P590) at all IKEA Collection Points nationwide located in Pasay City, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao, and Misamis Oriental," the company added.

For the foodie, IKEA visitors to its Pasay City store will enjoy up to 50% discounts on select food products. The meatless lasagna is now available for P99 (previously P199), and a hotdog with drinks meal is for only P59 (previously P79).

"As the Philippines now welcomes the ber months, you can think of these lowered prices as an early gift from IKEA to every Filipino home by making it easier for everyone to create a space they love with IKEA home furnishings that are now even more affordable," the company said.
