House leaders praise Romualdez after surge in satisfaction rating

Following the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing a remarkable 16-point surge in public satisfaction with his performance, Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez has garnered heartfelt praise from fellow House leaders, who view his leadership as a source of hope and stability in these challenging times.

Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. expressed his deep admiration for the Speaker, calling him a “true leader who understands the pulse of the people.”

“Speaker Romualdez has been a guiding light for the House of Representatives and the Filipino people,” Gonzales, the representative of Pampanga’s third district, said.

He added: “His leadership is not just about passing laws; it’s about understanding the needs of every Filipino and translating that into meaningful action. The rise in his satisfaction rating is a reflection of the trust and confidence that our country has in his vision and his heart.”

Conducted from June 23 to July 1, 2024, among 1,500 adults nationwide with a ±2.5% margin of error, the SWS survey found that 53% of respondents were satisfied with the Speaker’s performance, while 24% were dissatisfied.

The survey marked a significant 16-point increase from his previous 37% satisfaction rating in March 2024.

Deputy Speaker David “Jay-jay” Suarez shared a personal reflection on the Speaker’s unwavering dedication to public service.

“We have witnessed firsthand how Speaker Romualdez works tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and acted upon. His commitment goes beyond politics—it's deeply personal,” Suarez said.

The lawmaker from Quezon province’s second district said Speaker Romualdez “carries the weight of our nation’s hopes and dreams, and this latest survey shows that the people feel his sincerity and his drive to make a difference.”

Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe spoke of the Speaker’s impact not only on the legislative front but also on the lives of ordinary Filipinos.

“Speaker Romualdez has been more than just a leader; he’s been a champion for those who often feel forgotten,” said the legislator from Zamboanga City’s second district.

“His ability to connect with people from all walks of life and push for legislation that truly matters to them is what sets him apart. The survey is more than just numbers—it’s a testament to the Speaker’s genuine care for our people,” Dalipe said.

As the House of Representatives moves forward under his guidance, Gonzales, Suarez, and Dalipe expressed their unwavering support for Speaker Romualdez.

Together with the 300-plus members of the chamber, these House leaders are united in their commitment to helping Speaker Romualdez steer the nation toward a brighter, more inclusive future.

They reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring that the legislative agenda under Speaker Romualdez’s guidance continues to prioritize the welfare of every Filipino, with a particular focus on those most in need.

“Speaker Romualdez is not just leading us—he’s inspiring us. And that inspiration is something we all feel, something that drives us to serve our country with the same passion and purpose he brings every day,” Gonzales said.

Net satisfaction with Speaker Romualdez was highest in the Visayas at a strong +36, followed by Balance Luzon at +32, Metro Manila at +27, and Mindanao at +20.
