BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CRDRRMC) on Wednesday reported that Severe Tropical Storm Enteng left no major effects in the region.
Albert Mogol, CRDRRMC chairperson and the regional director of the Office of Civil Defense - Cordillera Administrative Region (OCD-CAR), said they are still on full alert and in full coordination with local DRRM councils.
“No major effects have been reported in CAR. However, the Cordillera RDRRMC is still in full alert and in close coordination with LDRRMCs to ensure continuous proactive measure and response readiness,” he said in a statement.
Mogol has issued a directive to all local DRRMCs in the provinces and municipalities to conduct Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) even as Enteng has exited the country since it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon.
CRDRRMC reported that as of Sept. 3, only one family, composed of three persons from San Quintin, Abra, reported to have been affected by Enteng. They were assisted by the local government unit and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The report also shows nine road sections – six in Benguet, two in Mountain Province and one in Kalinga, were affected by soil/ rock/ slope collapse, road slip or damaged slope protection. All roads are now open and passable to motorists.
Mogol also advised the local DRRMCs to maintain heightened alert and response readiness, as the threat of rain-induced landslide or flash floods remain due to the monsoon and the occurrence of localized thunderstorms.
Enough emergency supplies
Meanwhile, the DSWD-CAR also affirmed adequate supply of food and non-food items strategically pre-positioned and ready for dispatch if needed.
DSWD, in a report, said a total of 56,678 family food packs and non-food items worth around PHP52 million are available to the public. (PNA)
