The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Tuesday said around 90 families or 237 individuals remain in 15 evacuation centers in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
In a report, the agency said there are also 193 families, involving 646 persons, that are temporarily staying with relatives or friends.
“A total of 883 individuals were displaced by Typhoon Julian and they are being provided basic care and assistance,” it said.
The same report said more than 9,000 families in the region were affected by the super typhoon.
Some 10 houses were also damaged – eight partially damaged and two totally damaged – due to the effects of Julian.
Maria Aplaten, DSWD-CAR director, said the social welfare and development (SWAD) officers in the municipalities and provinces are directly coordinating with the local government units (LGUs) for any augmentation.
She assured the public that thousands of pre-positioned food and non-food relief packs are with the LGUs, aside from those in DSWD-managed warehouses.
As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, the agency said bout PHP108.09 million worth of relief items and PHP2.9 million in quick response funds are ready for immediate disposition. (PNA)
