DBM to release first tranche of gov't workers' salary hike

According to the Department of Budget Management (DBM), the first tranche of salary increases for qualified government workers will likely be released this month.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangamdaman said the actual schedule for the release would depend on the speed at which various government agencies do the computation.

“Ito na, baka itong month na ito mabigay ang retroactive nila depende sa agency. Kailangan mabilis po mag compute ang ating mga ahensya,” Pangandaman said.

Pangandaman made remarks in a media interview about the timeline for releasing the salary increase for government employees, which will be retroactive starting in January of this year.

She added that a mid-year bonus is also included in the release.

“Napirmahan na po kaninang umaga (Monday morning) ‘yung National Budget Circular at saka Local Budget Circular. So, we expect that ang publication nito ay by tomorrow,” Pangandaman said.

“But in the meantime, napadala na rin po natin ‘yung guidelines sa ating national government agencies para masimulan na po nila ang computation ng mga adjustments,” she added.

She said it is now up to the departments, government agencies, and other offices to speed up the release of adjustments.
