A bettor from Davao del Sur won P157,395,155.60 in the SuperLotto 6/49 drawn last July 18, 2024, with the winning combination 41-33-31-24-37-49.
While he only plays the lottery occasionally, he has been doing so since 2010. And while he only spends a total of 40 pesos for his bets, he was able to correctly guess the winning numbers.
“Yung isang combination po ay alaga ko talaga, pero iyong isa ay pinili ko lang nang basta na. Nagulat din ako na ‘yun ang nanalo,” said the 37-year-old business owner.
Life hasn’t been particularly difficult for the new millionaire, as he gets a steady source of income. When asked about his plans for his newfound wealth, he emphasized that he intends to further grow his business. He also mentioned that he will allocate a portion of his winnings to charity. “Gaya po ng pagtulong ng PCSO, gusto ko rin pong ibahagi ang aking napanalunan sa pagtulong sa aming komunidad,” he added.
To claim lotto prizes, winners must sign the back of the winning ticket and provide two valid government IDs for verification. Additionally, they must comply with the 20% tax on prizes exceeding ₱10,000.00 under the TRAIN Law.
As per RA 1169, winners have one (1) year from the draw date to claim their prize at the PCSO Main Office at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
