Customs supports Marcos admin's 24/7 shipment processing

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) fully supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to implement a 24/7 shipment process. It recognizes the imperative need for round-the-clock operations to accommodate the increasing influx of shipments into the ports.

Realizing the vision of a seamless 24/7 operation is a collective effort, with each stakeholder in the supply chain, shipping lines, arrastre operators, terminal operators, warehouse facilities, financial institutions, and the trucking industry playing a pivotal role.

Their active involvement is crucial at every stage of the efficient cargo release process, from pre-customs to customs proper and post-customs processing, all of which are integral to smooth trade facilitation.

The harmonization of operations among these stakeholders is not just a necessity, but a strategic move to reduce delays and ensure the prompt processing and release of cargoes. This, in turn, enhances the overall efficiency of the supply chain.

In line with this, the BOC is committed to working closely with these stakeholders to establish effective mechanisms for the successful implementation of the President's directive. With the collective commitment, the President's vision of uninterrupted import processing can be realized, benefiting all parties involved.

The BOC has initiated digitalization efforts to enhance trade facilitation, developing and implementing systems and projects to streamline customs processes, secure trade, and improve overall efficiency.

The Bureau of Customs remains dedicated to facilitating trade while upholding regulatory standards and safeguarding the nation's borders. Under the leadership of Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, the BOC reaffirms its commitment to support President Marcos Jr.'s directives.
