CCIP explores the AI beauty revolution: Human touch vs. tech wave

The Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines (CCIP) held its third quarterly General Membership Meeting at the SMX Convention Center, focusing on "AI: The Beauty Revolution."

Organized by CCIP’s VP of Programs, Diego Buenaflor of Ellana Cosmetics, the event featured expert speakers, including Archit Anand (FuelGrowth), Atty. Alex Austria (Globe Telecom), Ralph Regalado (Senti AI), and Kyle Patrick Bartido (Thinking Machines), with Guita Gopalan (Agyle Brands) moderating.

During the forum, past CCIP president Silliman Sy of Ever Bilena asked whether Artificial Intelligence (AI) might replace human interaction in understanding customers. Guita Gopalan emphasized that while AI helps process vast amounts of data, human elements like focus groups remain essential to grasp the nuances of customer behavior.

Additionally, Liz Lanuzo of Project Vanity commented on the value of discussing AI's impact, noting that many of CCIP’s member companies still adhere to traditional methods. The event underscored that while AI is transformative, it remains a tool that beauty brands must use alongside human insight.

CCIP has an active membership network of over 180+ cosmetics companies in the Philippines, including brand owners, distributors, traders, manufacturers, raw materials suppliers, packaging, labeling, and equipment suppliers, among other allied services in the industry.
