6.2-magnitude quake hits 66 km NE of Angoram, Papua New Guinea

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted 66 km northeast of Angoram, Papua New Guinea, at 01:03:16 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.


The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 3.487 degrees south latitude and 144.251 degrees east longitude.


Currently, there is no tsunami warning triggered by the earthquake, according to the U.S. Tsunami Warning System.
